Prayer Requests and Praises for the week of 6/17-22....

SHINE girls, please leave your prayers and praises here under this post.
We are honored to lift you up to His Throne, daily.

Psalm 91:

1Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation. ”

Jill, praying that all goes well and that the sweet Lord is watching over her. May He give her peace and her family as well. May the Great Physician accomplish all He needs to in and through this surgery. Father, please bless her Aunt Jeanette with a strong and healthy heart that beats with Your life Lord. In Jesus Name, amen. Much love, sarah

Please pray for me to find a really good friend that just "gets me". I know with all the terrible things people experience, this is not a big deal, but it is important to me. I have had great friendships in my life, but as our kids get older it seems everyone else is too busy to make time to cultivate our friendship. I am a great, loyal friend but it seems God has called me to time of loneliness for the past five years. I know God is trying to teach that He is enough and He is, but the desire of my heart is to find a friend that shares my beliefs & life experiences. I know God cares about friendships and I thank you for taking a minute to lift this request to God on my behalf:)

Anonymous, praying for you! It's a big deal to you, and good for you for bringing it before Jesus! :) I know He cares about what is important to you. I pray that He sends just the right person into your life. One who will be uplifting, encouraging, and the one who "gets you". May they be hand picked by Him, and always bring life into your relationship. Always bring light, and never darkness. Claiming a God chosen friend for you and a wonderful relationship. Thank you Lord in advance for watching over anonymous, and being Jehovah Jireh, her Provider, and providing her with the friendship you have planned for her. We thank you for being the awesome God you are, and for watching over all of the details of our lives. We love you and praise you. In Jesus Name, Amen. Love, Sarah

Thank you Lord that you've got the whole world in your hands. I lift my prayer sister Ladona to you this day and ask that you illuminate her path as she consistently walks to you. Thank you for her love and her prayers for me as well. When realtionships are bound together by you they grow and produce much fruit. I know her heart and thank you for her, I thank you for blessing me with her. Please just bless her today and always, lead and guide her, mark her footsteps. Cause the winds of your love and grace to fall on her and those she loves. In Jesus name. Amen

Anon..I can relate to your request on every level for a dear friend, however, I was so young and did not ask Jesus for the right friend/or friends. My family has the second place in my heart, as Jesus has the first. But, I pray in agreement with Sarah and Amen along with Women Who Pray, that you will be flooded with many new friends that "get you" spiritually, and will share in your life experiences. Galatians 6:2 "Share each other's troubles and problems, and so obey our Lord's command." To bring your request to fellow Shine girls for prayer holds volumes on your faith that God will open this door of friendship for you through our prayer chain. Loving you friend.

Jeanette is doing well, Jill, Benny called and said she did good and is resting. Thank you all for prayers for our Aunt Jeanette, Wayne's sister.

Terri, I am reaping the benefits of your heartfelt prayers over me and my family. It is women like you Terri and your precious sweet Sarah that make Shine a blessing to each prayer request, spoken or unspoken, the grace of God is glorified. Thanking all our beautiful ladies that Shine their light to others and lift others up. Praying that any response I have to the needs of our Prayer request is from God, my words, as I myself am not adequate or eloquent, but my heart is full of love for each of you. Thankful for being a part of this mission of Jill's obedience to God's calling on her life. LOVE, Ladona

Oh goodness can I relate. A friend who really gets you and still loves you!! This is huge!

Dear Father please answer the prayer of this SHINE sister. Lord will you bring her a friend, today. Can you introduce 2 sisters-in-Christ and may today be the day they will both look back on and say, "what about the sweet Lord brought us together". And then they will praise Your name, together, in sweet friendship.

Lord we know you care deeply for us, and our sister here is humbly asking.

We are excited to see what you will do!!

In Jesus' Name.

Please pray for my husband. He is stressed out and I feel disconnected from him right now. Thank you for your prayers. He is a great man, and I want him to have peace and not worry so much. I want him to trust in the Lord with it all. Pray that God will equip me to be a helper for him and not have a bitter heart towards him when he is stressed and grumpy.

Lisa said...

Yes, "they" say when momma's not happy...but it definitely goes for Daddy's too...

Dear Father will you show this sister how to help her husband? So many times we as wives are at a loss as to how to meet our hubs needs. So could you set up a time for heart-to-heart conversation, or just right this minute, lay some things on her heart that she could do.

We know that the role of wife is actually Your way of drawing us wives, closer to You. So we ask in Jesus' name that this SHINE sister will draw closer to YOU, as her heart longs to draw closer to her man.

We love you Lord and are incredibly thankful for your faithfulness of meeting us right where we are, this very moment.

Amen.

...and sometimes a lot of sex helps. Yes, I said that on a prayer request page. But it is one of the most wonderful gifts God gave to married folks.

Relieves stress, connects us...well, and there's not a lot of talking.

I'm blushing, and tho I want to post this Anonymously, will not.

Thank you ladies! You captured the intent of my heart beautifully. I am axious to see what God has been working on all these years:)

Anon, I have been in your shoes. I still am, depending on how things are going at work for my husband. Circumstances seem to dictate his contentment level. Of course, mine do too - we are all human, but it's hard because I want him to have peace and faith regardless of the junk he has to deal with. Lisa, you are awesome--I couldn't Amen your prayers or suggestions more! I belive our husbands need to know we care deeply about what they have to endure and that we support them, but sometimes it is hard to express. Sometimes I think they just need to see a tear or hear our concern for their struggle and show them our admiration for them.

Terri Abbott said...

Lisa: Thank you for your boldness in truth and for stepping into uncomfortable to bring life to situations. (Applaud and smile) Sex is def a gift to married folks. Lord, I pray for Anon and her husband and their marriage in that you would give her keen discernment for the needs of her husband. Our husbands truely look to us more than we know for confidence, reassurance and unconditional love. Lord, when her love is not enough, kindly give her YOUR love, cause her to reach right in his heart and plant what he needs at the right time. Sometimes Lord it's just a pat or a smile, and sometimes you lead us to much much more. OPEN the lines of communication and trust in each of them to draw the gifts you placed in each one for one another. Anoint those gifts and bring a harvest for such a time as this. Just as you told Esther that she is brought to the kingdom for 'such a time as this', Lord your word is quick and powerful. Adjust their situation and bless it, cause growth toward one another. I bind the enemy over their home and over their relationship in Jesus name. I pray the Holy Spirit to bring a time of refreshing to them that they learn to lean on one another and collectively on YOU! I bless your name and thank you for all those here that cry out to you. Hear us, O Lord, in your ears and move all of heaven to answer according to Your will. I love you and praise your name. Amen (You GO Lisa girl!)

i agree that sex helps... A LOT. men speak that language, they just do. i don't get it, but lem sure does! :) it also relieves a lot of stress.

this is for married folks only, girls!! so please don't misinterpret! (not that yall would!) :-)

sometimes they just need some TLC for a bit. we all do. what amazes me is how easily he returns the TLC, when i take the time to give it. it always is a win-win.

love even more than you ever have right now. he needs it. sounds like you both do.

I pray for Aunt Jeanette and that she continues to do well and heal from this surgery. Lord, touch her heart and make it whole, restore her body, in Jesus name.

It's actually physical as well as spiritual...too much testosterone build-up and he's a grump!! Lol!! Actually it helps the female also...though she mostly needs the snuggling...the attention...;D
Blushing also...as I'm older ...:D and most people act like we should be past all that...lol!

I highly recommend Stormie's Power of the Praying Wife...there's actually one of her prayers that covers them not growing into grumpy ole' men!! :D Loving the unlovely...allowing spueing(sp?) on us by those men God's given us...knowing it's not about us...but about the circumstances ... the stresses in life...being the helpmate is precious...but God did not say it would be easy...

LORD just flood anonymous's heart with such love for her man, that she can't get enough of him...;) In Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

Y'all, please join me and pray for Heather Foster Corbin. She broke her leg in 3 places while walking out her back steps and falling. In the process of being treated in Macon she has had several subsequent surgeries and an infection which was so severe that they had to remove part of the muscle in her her lower calf. She is very discouraged and down as she is going to have to learn how to walk again. She needs a miracle or two or three. Thank you! Rebekah

Lord, I pray your presense be great with Heather Foster Corbin. She is broken Lord and you're just the one to heal her. Kindly stop by and touch her as only You can. Give her renewed hope and a fresh spirit. Cause her to look ahead, give her a new joy and urgency to face this situation head on. In the meantime, please teach her Lord. Receiving the healing is not as important as getting to know the healer. I pray for both in great measure. During the time her body is healed, bless her with new knowledge of you and a closer walk. Thank you Father, you are SO good to us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you, Kelly for posting this. I drive by Vigas every day and it seems like no one is there when I do, so I have been wondering about you and your family business.

Father, having our own business that is struggling, I know what Kelly is saying. I pray it every day. You know our business related needs. I pray you will provide in one way or another and that You will, in fact, lead and open doors for provision. I know that your will is not a mystery and that You want to reveal yourself to us, so we ask that you do so and that we are open to hearing You. Thank you for moving and showing us Your mercies every day. Amen.

Father, I join Beka and others praying for Heather. We bind all mistreatment, misdiagnosis, and all bacteria causing infection that has entered her body from any surgical procedure or treatment. We bind all that can cause infection...from unsterilized implements to hands that have not been washed properly...to gloves that protect the medical people but may remain on that person while they do more than one thing allowing for the bacteria to be on the outside of the glove and moved to patient...remembering well as I watched over this in the hospital with my parents and children...and being treated not so kindly when I mentioned to the medical person. It's been interesting knowing that my nickname Teddi...from Ted...and of course Theodore...but also from Edward...which means guard. I suppose that's why I've offended people with my watchful eye...but I spent years in he hospital looking over parents. And, of course the fact that I'm Baba's daughter. We agree in Jesus' Name that no more harm will come to this body. We thank You, LORD, that caused the calf muscle to have to be removed...we thank You that it desists even today if it has not...we rebuke it to the root and command that it not bear anymore fruit. We lay hands from here, LORD, on that calf...and we pray healing in Jesus' Name. We thank You, LORD, that You have made bodies to heal...and that things in our body that have pieces grow out...they also grow back many times. We ask that for this muscle. WE thank You for this miracle...in Jesus' Name. Just knowing that without surgery my torn ligament in my left knee...the back of it where it bends...took awhile but it is healed and I can now bend even a deep knee bend...where I did not for 2-3 years. There is no sign now of the damage when you feel the knee. LORD, You are no respecter of persons,and I just ask that You do this for Heather. We just expect good news from here on out. When we hear bad news, we just turn it around and say, Another opportunity for our God...Jehovah Rophe...Himself to WOW us!! Show off LORD! Astound the medical personnell...wherever they've say NAY...we say YAY and visa versa!!! We are in You, LORD, the Hope of Glory!!! In Jesus' Name and for His sake, Amen and Amen.

Kelly, I agree with Beka and Mary for this family business to prosper, In Jesus' Name. As I do myself, when I'm claiming promises from the LORD, I check to see if I've "tucked in all the sheets" so to speak. Or, "is my slip showing" or "do I have food on my teeth." I'm not trying to sound silly...I'm just such a visual person. What I'm trying to say is I make sure that I'm doing all that is required of me to receive the blessing. As a woman, mother, sister, mother in-law, aunt, grandmother, friend, teacher, Christian, etc., I see if I'm doing what the Word has said for me:

1. Am I submissive to husband?
2. Am I loving my children...including correcting them?
3. Am I seeking the Kingdom first?
4. Am I tithing?
5. Am I hurt? Disappointed? Is unforgiveness in my heart?

There's more...but you get my drift? If it's not my responsibility, then I don't include it.

When I recognize that some iniquity is regarded in my heart, no matter how little or silly it may seem in this very lost world, then I simply confess it knowing He forgives me and I turn from it..that's repentance. I decided awhile back that I would no longer ask the LORD every day or often to forgive me of the same thing(s)...I decided that if the Holy Spirit is in me...who knows no sin...the Spirit of Jesus...of God Almighty...then He knows full well how to lead me out of that sin...so that like the woman who was being stoned did...she did what Jesus said...Go and sin no more. I'm not sinless...I mean something new shows up ever so often...but the Word says He is perfecting us...He's the potter...He's molding and making us...so, then, after I've taken care of my part...I do what the boy did in Where the Red Fern Grows...and the boy is knocking the coon out of the tree for the dogs...even when given the bigger ax by his Daddy...when he's done all he can do and the tree doesn't move, he looks up at his Daddy and says, "Can't you help me now? I've done all that I can do!" And a huge wind comes and knocks down the tree...and the boy looks up and thanks God...and knows that what his Granddaddy had told him was true...Yes, He will move the mountains and do miracles...but there's always an "if". If you will.....then I Will.... I'm expecting God to do a mighty work here in behalf of you, Kelly and Vigas, and the whole family...Woo Hoo!!!! In Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

I have a very special, personal prayer request. We have just found out we are pregnant!! For those of you who do not know, we have been trying for a long time after the 20 week loss of our Bennett in March of 2010 followed by a twelve week loss in August of the same year. We had finally decided that the Lord did not have plans for us to carry another one and met with an adoption attorney a few weeks ago. I always say the Lord has a great sense of humor and He does. Two weeks after our meeting we found out we were FINALLY pregnant. We are very early in the pregnancy, but have decided that we want to tell everyone we know that will cover us in prayer. That everyone included each of you ;) So please please please pray for me and the baby. Our last two losses resulted in major health concerns for me, and it was pretty scary for my family. So I realize that this is a big request but I would ask that you put us on all prayer lists and pray for us daily if you can. For the next let's say.....36 weeks ;) Thank you! Each of you are a blessing and we appreciate your prayers!!! I will keep you update ;)

Love and Blessings,

Melanie and baby Hall.

Women Who Pray said...

Melanie and baby, I want to pray for you what we pray daily for our tent...it's part of our prayer blanket...and we're pulling you and your baby and your hubby...under our blanket...I'm beginning in the 4th voice, end of 3rd paragraph...
We praise You, LORD, in advance for all the miracles and demolished strongholds, we expect!
We thank You, LORD, that the Spirit of Him Who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us , and that because You raised Christ Jesus from the dead, You have given life to our mortal bodies through Your Spirit who indwells us. We pray we give attention to Your words and incline our ears to Your sayings; that we do not let them depart from our sight, and that we keep them in the midst of our hearts, because they are life to us who find them and health and prosperity to our whole body and household -- and all our tent!

Because we serve You, LORD, You bless our bread and our water, and Your remove sickness form our midst -- including opening wombs and removing miscarriages. You heal all our diseases; You redeem our lives from the pit; You crown us with compassion; You satisfy our years and desires with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle, and You only perform righteous deeds and judgments for all who are oppressed. Jesus, Himself, bore all our sins in His own body on the cross, that we may die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His stripes we were healed!

Thank You, LORD, in advance, as stated here for Melanie...that her body is healed...that any and all that would have caused any problem in the past is gone...that her uterus is strong and safe for this baby...that the bag of waters is successfully attached as You planned in Your creation...and that she will rest and listen to her body ...and take it easy...following all instructions of the doctor...for we call forth wisdom from the medical team involved throughout this pregnancy and delivery and from her precious head of her home. I haven't lost 2...only one...and at 20 weeks...and I do so look forward to seeing him in Heaven. I do have the experience of being off my feet to carry my 3rd son...like 5 weeks...and he's now 31. Others who pray here have also their experiences...and together as sisters in Christ...You, LORD, allow us to not only pray for one another...but to hear from those who've gone before us. Thank You...LORD...for this baby!!! Your heritage, LORD!!! Your reward!!! I'm clapping LORD...and shouting Gloooorrrrryyyy!!!!! Come baby...into this earth to this loving Mama and Daddy!!! Expect to know JESUS very young, as they are sold out to Him and HIm alone...for He indeed get the glory for this birth!!!! Halllleeeeelllluuuuujjjjaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shouting ground going on here as I pray on this anointed of God page...Woooo Hoooo!!!!! So honored LORD to pray for Melanie...and for all those who come here!!!! Your Kingdom Come LORD!!!! You Will Be Done!!!!! In Jesus' Name and for His sake!!!! We declare the WORD which is above the Name!!! Amen and Amen!!!!!!!

Agreeing with you Aunt Teddi! Claiming this baby for this Momma and her family in Jesus Name! We speak life to come forth out of Melyshea's womb, and pray for a hedge of protection to be around her, her baby, and their health. Praying that this precious baby would be carried full term, and that our Father in heaven would receive all the glory! May Malyshea and her baby receive excellent care at all their appointments, visits, check-ups, and the delivery at the hospital. We call on You Father to be the overseer of this situation, and to watch over every detail. Father, I pray that You give Malyshea and her family peace and security and watch over them. We thank You in advance for being the awesome God You are! Believing for you and with you! Much love, Sarah
